My name is Wes Simpkins and I am a storyboard artist living in Brooklyn, New York. I possess seven years of experience, five of which storyboarding has served as my primary occupation. In that time, I have created storyboards for virtually every form of media in which storyboards are used, including advertising, music videos, and short and feature length films.

I work in pen and ink with black/white marker shading or water coloring, all depending on the specific requirements of the project. Though there isn't a difference in what I charge for color versus black/white, it does take longer for me to develop storyboards in color (approximately 15 per day for color and 25 for b/w).

I have experience working with various methods of communication, including thumbnail sketches from the project director, shot lists, or adapting storyboards straight from a script. I work both onsite in New York City or remotely via email. However, I suggest that clients who wish to collaborate remotely provide me with a detailed shot list.

Creatively, I bring a lot to the table. Throughout my career as a storyboard artist, I have developed a strong visual aesthetic and have learned much about the film-making process. I am able to help troubleshoot shots and am familiar with the cinematic conventions of various genres.
